City Pulse: Cover Art

What I Did

Graphic Design • Illustration • Digital

Project

Create art to showcase the highlighted story of the week for the cover of the magazine.

Description

Since 2016, I have had the pleasure of working with Lansing City Pulse on cover art for the award winning publication. Each story is completely different than the last so every piece is carefully thought out, reviewed, sketched and edited before going to print.
I create each image with a Japanese brush pen manually, scan and digitize.

Project

Create a collage linocut block that represents each song on the album

Description

I was laser focused on Fine Art Printmaking when J. Sygit asked me to work on this project. I had never created a collage linocut block before and subsequently since
this album design. It was a challenging and fun assignment! Each image on the block represents a song on the album.

Lululemon

What I Did

Art Direction • Exhibit Design • Printmaking • Social

Project

Items included in this campaign: Window display, Custom up-cycled hobo yoga bag, apparel, yoga gear, framed fine art and a 12 foot 3-D print centerpiece.

Description

Shortly after Lululemon opened in East Lansing Michigan I was discovered on instagram and asked to create a window display promoting the new #Nulux leggings. We displayed junk food on the canvas banner to juxtapose the company's expected message for April Fools' Day. It was a huge success.

Later that year, the organization opened a new larger store in Eastwood Towne Center. I was tasked with creating a centerpiece for the store that visually represented the city of Lansing. I created 15 custom linoleum block prints for the graphic. The final piece ended up being a 12 foot 3-D print. One of my finest pieces of work to date.
